Reflections from AMTE - Dr. Theodore Chao

Ayse, Hochieh, and Theodore went to the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educator Conference in Houston, Feb 8-10, 2018. We learned a lot and had a ton of fun.

Theodore presented a really fun, long session examining culture and history within pre-service teacher education with Cathery Yeh, Kathy Stoerr, and Ayse and Hochieh. Here's a photo of Theodore presenting in front of a photo of him presenting (in the same pose).

Ayse loved coming together with other Math Ed course instructors, specifically because she’s currently teaching Elementary Methods courses. She got to see a really cool session on using video for noticing, specifically in rehearsal teaching, specifically the MQI framework.

Hochieh liked the session we did together because it featured 3 separate activities that could be used immediately in the Math Methods courses. He also liked seeing sessions on LessonSketch and GoAnimate in creating virtual spaces for pre-service teachers.

Oh, and Stephen presented some great analysis from his dissertation.
